Dogs of Triple Creek Cottage

Meet Bane...

And Talia...

(Any DC comics fans out there?)

These are the dogs of Triple Creek Cottage. They accompanied Ollie on many a trip up to Champion throughout the fall and have decided they are now country dogs. They've made country dog friends... Fergus and Keely, the labs next door. (We do need Bane and Talia to be suburban dogs in real life though and stay in the yard!)

We reserved a snowy weekend in January for ourselves to enjoy Triple Creek Cottage. Our school system has a 4-day weekend near the end of January to mark the end of the semester, so we will pretty much always reserve this weekend for ourselves. It was also the Eldest's birthday weekend, much to her chagrin. She often laments the fact that she wasn't born into a beach-vacation family. But she did get to bring a friend. And the Littlest brought a friend, (who brought her mom who is our friend). So eight of us and our two dogs were comfortable and cozy in Triple Creek Cottage.

I'd like to say we relaxed in the hot tub, but that would be a lie. A relaxing soak in a hot tub with five girls ages 8 to 15 is an impossibility. The only person relaxing was Ollie, in a house devoid of five girls ages 8 to 15. Our friends rented their gear from Rte. 31 and the Eldest bought herself a shop sweatshirt which she's been wearing nearly every days since. We snagged some Pecan Rolls from Moo Echo. We ordered pizza from Dough Girls. We made microwave s'mores (because it was muy frio outside). We watched movies. We played Bumper Pool. And the Game of Life.

We are a combination of snowboarders and skiers. The Middlest and the Littlest ski and the rest of us board. We were lucky to have lots of fresh snow and Seven Springs on a Friday is awesome! Short lift lines and wide open trails. The weekend gets crowded! On Sunday a skier clipped the the back of my board and I went down on my head. THANK GOD for helmets! And MIPS! We started wearing helmets after we had kids and needed to practice what we preach. Now I can't imagine being on the slopes without one.

Want to know what else has a big ole' crack in it!?!?

Yep. That is our long-awaited dining table. Pottery Barn says they will replace it...sometime in April.
