We finally get to enjoy being at Triple Creek Cottage!
Mostly. It's a working family vacation. We are here at the cottage for Christmas finalizing as much as we can and putting the place through its paces before our first guests arrive for New Year's Eve.
First the working part. The major accomplishment for this trip is that we finished the hot tub installation, and in time for our first guests! We donned our Triple Creek robes and tested it all out. It is really going to be a nice amenity to come back to after a day on the mountain.
Also exciting, for a select audience, is the installation of a Level 2 electric car charger. Our Bolt can make it here from the DMV on a single charge, and now we can recharge and be ready to go in just a few hours.
Now the vacation part. The grandparents are here and brought us an amazingly delicious London Broil for Christmas Eve dinner. I spent hours in the 2nd floor master on Christmas Eve buried in wrapping paper while the kids played board games and bumper pool with Granda. The Middlest baked Christmas cookies for Santa. We opened our Christmas PJs and curled up on the couch watching Christmas movies until it was time for Santa to arrive.
It's now Christmas afternoon. Presents are unwrapped. A second pot of coffee is brewing. Kids are playing. Grandparents are napping. This is our first Christmas away from home and it has been absolutely lovely. Just how we envisioned we'd use our home away from home!
